Founder, Tennessee Accreditation Solutions
I founded Tennessee Accreditation Solutions to help law enforcement agencies develop and maintain professional, practical policy systems that reflect current law, recognized standards, and the way their departments actually operate.
Before my law enforcement career, I served in the United States Air Force, which included deployment to the Middle East during Operation Desert Storm. Following my military service, I began a career in law enforcement that would span 27 years.
During my 27 years in law enforcement, my experience included supervision, command responsibilities, policy development, internal affairs, accreditation, and training. My final assignment placed me in a position where I was responsible for many of the administrative and accountability functions that directly affect how a law enforcement agency operates, documents its practices, and provides clear direction to its personnel.
That experience taught me that a good policy manual should be more than a collection of documents sitting on a shelf. Policies should be current, understandable, legally sound, and tailored to the individual agency. They should give officers and supervisors clear guidance while also providing department leadership with a structured system for maintaining consistency and accountability.
After relocating to Tennessee, I established Tennessee Accreditation Solutions to provide smaller and mid-sized law enforcement agencies with access to professional policy development and ongoing support without requiring them to dedicate existing personnel to the continuous research, revision, and maintenance that a modern policy system requires.
My primary service is the development of a comprehensive, department-specific policy package. I work directly with the Chief and command staff to understand the agency’s structure, operations, existing practices, municipal requirements, and available resources. Policies are then developed or revised around that agency rather than relying on a generic, one-size-fits-all manual.
My policies are developed to adhere to the standards established by the Tennessee Law Enforcement Accreditation (TLEA) program, even when an agency has no immediate plans to pursue accreditation. This gives departments a structured policy framework based on recognized Tennessee law enforcement best practices while allowing the policies to remain practical and specific to the agency.
For departments that later decide to pursue TLEA accreditation, additional accreditation assistance is also available.
Tennessee Accreditation Solutions provides agencies with more than a policy manual. The goal is to provide a professional policy system, a private department policy portal, and ongoing support to keep policies current as laws, standards, court decisions, technology, and departmental practices change.
